Eden came into the kitchen hiccuping and I said, "Eden! You've got the hiccups again? You must be growing!"

Asher didn't want to take a shower tonight after basketball practice. "Please, mama... don't make me. I'll take one tomorrow night." I let it slide and told him he was almost "not a boy anymore" and almost a man and men need to shower after exercise... He responded by lifting his arm, feeling his armpit, and asking me, "Do you see any hairs yet?" (He asks me this every few months when we discuss topics related to him growing up.)
