Back 2 it...

It's the 2nd official week of half-marathon training. I just returned from my scheduled 3-miler...

Running is so good for me! Not just physically... but mentally. I get some quiet time to think... pray... reflect...

I love the freedom running gives me. I am challenged and set free at the same time. I feel strong and weak simultaneously. It's an incredible feeling I've only ever experienced with another event in my life. Childbirth.

I'm so thankful for being introduced to the joys of running. My husband was instrumental in challenging me to "go for it." I really appreciate him and his encouragement.

I challenge everyone to try running. I don't think it's ever too late. Even if it's a shuffle. Even if you're the last one to complete the race. You've accomplished something. You've met the challenge. You've improved yourself.

Try it. You might like it.

Re: Back 2 it...

It's so funny you said that about childbirth. When I crossed the finish line at my first (and, until next Sat., only) marathon, I yelled to my childless, marathon-junkie friend, "Kirsten, just give birth! It's easier and the prize is much better!" Ha ha! Run on, sister!
